Vancouver

If you have lived in any City as long as I have over 26 years, you have got to love the place totally. Besides, Vancouver is not like any other Cities. (Ingrid Michaelson sings "Maybe").

Fall

Fall season is here, although the weather is not really cold as yet, so far about 4C min.
Small traces of snow can be seen in the North Shore Mountains. In different part of Canada snow fall is already in order.

But the trees can certainly feel the change in the temperature, as shown in the leaves colour.
I like these Maple tree leaves on the photo that change to fiery bright red colour to welcome the Fall season.



Some fruits are hanging tough and still hanging around not to drop from it's trees.
Like these Blackberrys are still waiting for the birds or human to consume them. This reminded me, that "Blackberry" is a name given by "Research in Motion" for its smartphone, a Canadian Company from Waterloo, Ont.

Moon Festival

Moon Festival in Vancouver Chinatown. Just like Christmas and Thanksgiving in the West, the Moon Festival is one of the most important traditional events for the Chinese.

Shown on photo some Lion Dancers join in the Moon Festival Celebration.

Port of Vancouver

Busy time at the Port of Vancouver: 3 cruise ships were at the port, a 2600 passenger cruise ship "Diamond Princess", a 2500 passenger cruise ship "Serenade of the Seas", and the 1800 passenger cruise ship "Zuiderdam" were readied to go for trips to Alaska, Washington and California. Also noisy seaplanes "Westcoast Air" and "Harbour Air" came and gone to Victoria and Nanaimo.

Odak-odak Gendang Karo

Space Shuttle Mission STS 127

The recent Space Shuttle Mission STS-127, that successfully completed the construction of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's Kibo Laboratory. There are 5 International Partners in the Space Shuttle Mission: USA, Canada, Russia, Japan and the European Communities. All photos credit to NASA. (National Aeronautics Space Administration). Bike Lane

Hundred of cyclists took advantage of the 3 month trial "bike lane" only on Burrard Bridge in Vancouver. But rush hour motorists were furious because of the extra traffic congestion caused by the bike lane.

Airplane Photography

Taking airplane photography is quite tricky. You need some foreground object, whilst the plane at the speed of 300 km/hr is in clear full view. Shown on photo is a Japan Air Lines JAL is ready for landing at YVR Vancouver airport.

Nature Park

I took my dog for a walk to Burnaby Lake Nature Park. I forgot that dog was not allowed. It was O.K. to go to an elevated viewing platform nearby. Photo shown some birdwatchers are at ground level.

Port Mann Bridge

Top: North Span

Bottom: (South Span) I went for a drive to Maquabeak Park and saw some activities at Fraser River. They already started working to build the new 10 lane bridge to replace the existing 45 year old Port Mann bridge. Evidently the new bridge will cost $3.3B and is set to open in 2013.

Sapphire Princess

Yesterday I went for a 20 km bicycle ride and saw the "Sapphire Princess" cruise ship at Port of Vancouver. The ship is making a regular summer cruise trip to Alaska.

Stars in the Milky Way

Our Solar System is in the Milky Way, lies near a small partial arm called "Orion Arm", located between the Sagittarius and Perseus Arms. The photos on this video are Galaxies and Nebulae taken by Hubble Space Telescope. I made this video for education purposes only and I give credits for all the photos to the NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration).
